RESOURCES

Kentucky United Ways work hard every day to build stronger, healthier communities throughout the state.  In order to ensure all Kentuckians have the opportunity to thrive, we need to:

United Way Worldwide’s (UWW) new toolkit, Living United: A Guide for Becoming a More Equitable Organization, can help us accomplish this goal.  This toolkit – which can be used by all staff regardless of organizational role, expertise, or professional background – gives United Ways an opportunity to integrate equity into all aspects of our work: board composition, staff representation, allocation of funding, and stepping up to be the leader and convener around this issue in our local communities.  Everyone can be an equity leader – we can start by using the resources in this toolkit to model diversity, equity, and inclusion at our local United Way.  Please review this UWW FAQ resource for questions about the development of the toolkit.  For additional support, contact Marveen Hart, Senior Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (marveen.hart@uww.unitedway.org) at UWW.
